--- title: passimg categories: - C libraries --- **passimg** is a library for asking for passwords. Asking for passwords was never this weird: instead of an input box that hides what you type, it opens an image picker and derives the password from the image you select. ``` #include "passimg.h" #include int main() { const char *password = passimg(); printf("password: %s\n", password); return 0; } ``` ## Pros and cons - Streamers can't leak their passwords: a screen capture is not the picture. - If you lose the picture, the password is gone. - Sharing the password between devices is harder. About security: people ask what happens if someone gets into my computer and steals my images. I ask why they wouldn't steal my passwords too. > [!WARNING] > Written in about an hour and 100 lines of C. It has bugs, security issues > and stability problems I haven't found yet. ## Dependencies stb_image and tinyfiledialogs, in `deps/`. ## See also - [Source code](https://github.com/hugoocoto/passimg)
